I'm trying to gather ideas for a piece I'm working on for the holidays. What is and would be on your Jiu Jitsu specific wishlist, whether money was an issue or not.
Great post!
Really support Jack on the nice belt… in fact I just ordered an embroidered kataaro belt as my own Christmas present ;)
If you just got promoted a ranked rashguard ( if accepted at your academy) is also nice.
Same goes for a new gi / gym bag.
But in all honesty all I really want is be injury free, so rolling cautiously and controlling it is my main focus

On my Jiu Jitsu wishlist, whether budget mattered or not:
Warrior Athletix gear(shame-less plug): fresh Gi, rash guards, and a hoodie that actually holds up through pop-up events and cold mats
A new belt (earned or symbolic) with something stitched on it that means something
A modular class planner to map layered sequences, one that I could actually use
A legacy wall or belt rack for the gym that honors promotions and community milestones
Enough sales to create a scholarship fund for vets and first responders to train without worrying about gear or tuition
And yeah, a private session with someone, not really sure who yet
Some techniques that work would be at the top of my list.
Got myself a new gi around this time last year and it was intercepted by my wife for me to open on Christmas morning. I had gotten injured in the meantime so it was over 6 months before I got to wear it.
On my list for this year might be a gym bag and a dedicated water bottle so I can keep my stuff together instead of needing to remember to grab all the pieces individually.
