I have more behind me than I do ahead of me. I’ve heard it said many times, “If you wake up and you’re not in pain, you’re dead.” And in a strange way, it’s true. Pain is part of life — physical, mental, and even spiritual.
So today, I’m grateful just to still be here.
We can sit and think about the people who’ve come into our lives and then moved on. It’s okay to mourn them. But it’s just as important to look around at the ones who are still here.
People come and go, but the ones who stay are like gold left in the pan after hours of sifting dirt — washing away tons of soil just to find a few shining nuggets. And when you find those nuggets, the pain doesn’t disappear… but it does get lighter.
So today, let’s look at the nuggets — the people who are still around.
